Capt'n Matt's Treasure Hunt

is my longest running show, written back in 1990. Since then the gentle Capt'n has captured the imagination of hundreds of thousands of children. 

The story has literacy angle, celebrating the joy of books and reading. The “Treasure” is the Capt’n’s giant magic storybook. The plot revolves around recovering this stolen artifact. The audience becomes my crew, and together we set out on a ridiculous adventure, tracking down the dreaded pirate Stink-Beard to rescue the book, and meeting a number of comical characters along the way.  

When we finally find and open the enormous tome, big illustrated pages pop-up toward the audience retelling our own adventure of recovering the book. The audience leaves with the message that they themselves are living stories.
